Verizon Storm OS upgrade 4.7.0.113
It’s rampant. Everyone is clamoring for an OS upgrade to their 9530 Storm BlackBerry.
Reading the various forums on this matter is like walking through the Wild Wild West, full of name-calling and threats. One not heavily armed in the war on words or quite thick-skinned is safer staying away. Verizon has not helped the matter much at all, with no official word, yet their Customer Service Reps have been dropping tidbits of info since December with promises of an upgrade “next week”. Always “next week’. Has that been the company line?
Today, even the respected Information Week joined the speculation game, stating, “Verizon Wireless is preparing to roll out an over-the-air software update for the touch-screen BlackBerry Storm that should fix multiple bugs and will add a few features.”
A few users have even started a petition to ask Verizon to speed up the release (although checking today, less than 140 people have signed on the petition). We know from past issues with locked-down-GPS that Verizon doesn’t get bullied easily. Even so, daily I see users begging to get either an official OS upgrade, or wanting to return the device.
