BlackBerry Onyx Spotted in the Wild!

* Update 3: So much for a relaxing Sunday night, huh? BG just posted a little update addressing a couple points…. Regarding device model, he’s got some intel that this device could launch as part of the 96xx series (makes sense looking at the keyboard), and in terms of input mechanism that despite the appearance of a trackball in the photo of the pre-production unit above, that this device will have an optical trackpad at launch. I sure hope that’s the case… I tell ya, I’m in LOVE with the trackpad on the 8520. *
* Update 2: Posted the side profile photo above. Looking pretty cool. Trackball (kinda wish it had the trackpad), T-Mo 3G, tight form factor and a nice keyboard. *
* Update 1: kikitheking sent us in a follow-up photo of the FRONT of the device…you can see it after the jump. BGR also followed up with a post on this – sounds like this device (be it “Onyx” or “Driftwood” should be hitting T-Mobile in September. Think Curve 8900 gone 3G (plus 9630 Tour-like keyboard?!) *
NICE. Look what just got emailed into the CrackBerry tip line and posted in the forums! You’re looking at the backside of yet another upcoming BlackBerry smartphone… this is the one that has been going under the codename “Onyx” to date. I’m sure we’ll see a lot more details and images in the days / weeks / months ahead (can we puhleaze see the front??!). Another picture after the jump!
