Well, you heard that right peoples. It looks like Verizon Wireless is gearing up to launch the much-awaited BlackBerry Tour on July 12th. The best part? It appears it’s going to go for $199 with a two-year agreement according to Verizon’s testman site. That’s sweet spot pricing and hey, let’s be upfront — they’re going to move truckloads of these things.

The Province has put together their list of the Top 5 Canadian companies and RIM is at the top of their list. Here is what they had to say about the company:

Research in Motion

When its executives aren’t trying to repatriate the Phoenix Coyotes, they’re busy making and marketing the BlackBerry smart phone.

Founded by Mike Lazaridis in 1984 in Waterloo, Ont., RIM has seen its share of ups and downs. Patent disputes and stock-option scandals have both made headlines for the wrong reasons. But when the president of the United States is rarely seen without your product, you know you’ve got something to sell to the world. Read the rest of this entry »

BlackBerry clone calls itself BlockBerry

In Chinese this reads “”Obama have BlackBerry, I have BlockBerry.” This BlockBerry device is a Windows Mobile 6.1 BlockBerry with a 460MHZ processor, a 3.2-inch touchscreen, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and supports 3G and EDGE.

Does this mean that the above device is a BlockBerry Storm? I can’t wait until they launch the BlockBerry Tour in China.

In the slew of Twitter applications that have been launched so far, a new challenger appears–Kind of. Tweeteev is not set for launch as of yet but a rather omnious website and sign up page has been set up and is now accepting email addresses to let users know when it is available. The above screen shot is all we have to go on for now although the sneak peek sure does look interesting that’s for sure. Read the rest of this entry »

Following up on their cats and dogs themes, Bplay recently released a premium Horses theme for all devices. While it may not be for everyone, this theme is certain to have a market. As with all of Bplay’s theme, it has clean icons and smooth menus. It also includes rotating horse backgrounds that change every 10 minutes from a variety of top breeds, including: Arabian, Quarter Horse, Paint, Miniature, Thoroughbred, Appaloosa, Tennessee Walking, Akhal-Teke, Paso Fino, Andalusian, Friesian, Clydesdale, Icelandic, Trakehner and Irish Draft. The application to me really is one of those “must have” apps that a power user needs. Aside from being a great file explorer for your device, the multiple functions built-in are great, being able to zip/unzip files directly on device and email them is great, being able to create playlists, edit file attributes, search and do so much more is great. BlingBerry: 24kt Gold BlackBerry Curve 8900

Posted by admin On June - 24 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

I’ve been talking to Alex over at Computer Choppers off and on for a long time now (since the launch of the Bold), wondering when they would offer a 24kt solution for the latest generation of BlackBerry devices. Rewind back a couple years and pictures of Pharrel Williams rocking an 18kt BlackBerry 8700 and then 18k BlackBerry 8800 were everywhere, but we had yet to see a gold-plated Bold, 8900 or Storm. That is until now. Read the rest of this entry »

Backup and restore to your media card with PhoneBAKup: Giveaways!

bb_backup_app_feat

PhoneBAKup looks like a pretty useful app for saving time and energy making backups of your important files. The app lets you schedule daily, weekly or monthly backups for your BlackBerry OTA. With each backup, you can save your device’s data including the Address Book, Task, Calendar and MemoList.

The data is emailed to an email address of your choosing, so if you have a lot of data, make sure you have an appropriate data plan. Also, consider making a separate email address for your backups so it doesn’t get mixed up with your other emails and can be quickly accessed. Read the rest of this entry »

BlackBerry Tour 101 Now Up

As we have seen for other previous devices, the BlackBerry 101 user guide for the BlackBerry Tour is now up and ready for viewing, so please feel free to tease and torture yourself by having a look through it – just make sure you move your keyboard to the side, you wouldn’t want to get drool all over it as you look but can’t touch – yet.
