Posted by admin On January - 31 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

A quick note for all of the good folks in India today (errr… well, yesterday technically). Looks like RIM has officially launched the BlackBerry Bold 9700 in India. Woohoo! The 9700 is now available nationwide in retail stores serviced by Redington India… Plus, it is now on hand at Airtel, Aircel, BSNL, Idea Cellular, Loop Mobile, MTNL, Reliance, Tata and Vodafone locations.

For users of the ever popular Bold 9000 in the region, the 9700 may draw more than a few looks. The design has been updated, and packs the touch-sensitive trackpad, a high-performance 624MHZ processor, 256MB of on-board flash memory, Read the rest of this entry »

inPulse smartwatch for BlackBerry wrist-on

Posted by admin On January - 29 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

We managed to track down the guys from Canada’s Allerta and got to spend some time with a couple dummy models of the soon-to-be-released inPulse smartwatch for BlackBerry. Design-wise, it’s very attractive, with a brushed metal body and a leather band. As a bonus to early orderers, the first 1,000 sold will be custom-milled on a CNC router — ironically, it’ll actually be more cost-effective for them to do it that way while they build up production volume. In terms of functionality, it will Read the rest of this entry »

BerryShell – Premium BlackBerry Theme From Hedone Design

Posted by admin On January - 29 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Hedone has emerged from his lab again. This time bringing with him the beautifully designed BerryShell theme. As with most of Hedones designs, BerryShell looks fresh and sharp on your BlackBerry screen. The grey and orange color scheme is nice, similar to his Bussfast theme we’ve seen before, so if you have used that one BerryShell would suit you nicely. The filesize is rather large on this one, coming in at around 1.7mb for the Bold 9700 version so keep that in mind. Normally, Read the rest of this entry »

Surprisingly as of late we’ve actually seen more official OS releases than leaks, but today we have an OS leak for both the Bold 9000 and Curve 8900. BerryMe has posted OS 5.0.0.464 for the Bold 9000 as well as 5.0.0.461 for the Curve 8900. As these aren’t official OS’, use caution when upgrading your device. Hit the links below to Read the rest of this entry »

BlackBerry Essex sighted with Sprint branding

Posted by admin On January - 29 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Well, we’ve been seeing the BlackBerry Essex out in the wild for quite a while now, but this is the first time we’ve seen it with some Sprint branding, which we’re sure is enough to get at least some folks plenty excited (or regretful as the case may be). As most BlackBerry fans are no doubt well aware, the Essex is a Tour refresh that, among other things, adds some much needed WiFi capabilities to the phone, and ditches the Tour’s trackball in favor of a trackpad. Of course, this still isn’t a done Read the rest of this entry »

RIM’s (doomed?) BlackBerry Magnum makes its video debut

Posted by admin On January - 29 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

The same cat that brought us the last Magnum scoop is back again, this time with a short video detailing the differences between RIM’s supposed first effort at making a touchscreen / QWERTY hybrid device and its nearest cousins, the Bold 9000 and 9700. Notably, the narrator points out that the phone shares its keyboard design more closely with the 9000 than the 9700 — for aficionados, this can be a crucial difference — and it generally shares its physical cues with the older Bold apart Read the rest of this entry »
